New Giant Rat discovered

20 December 2007 ~ 17:04

Recently, a new species of rat has been discovered in Indonesia. It is as big as five common rats and totally unafraid of people. It came into the scientist's camp several times. I think they are adorable and I hope people don't do what they often do with rare species and cause them to go extinct. Hopefully that won't happen as the area these rats live in is very remote.

Also discovered in the same area was a new species of dove called an ornate fruit dove. It is rainbow coloured and absolutely stunning. You can bet if our common feral pigeons were this colour people wouldn't despise them the way some do.
