Perching here and gathering my thoughts ...

The French get it right over Mad Mullahs

13 May 2004 ~ 17:09

The case against the deportation of Abu Hamza, a Moslem cleric living and sermonizing in the U.K. who preaches hate and terrorism, could drag on for ten years. He already got a years stay to prepare his defense, and he also has U.K. citizenship via a bigamous marriage to a British woman who was already married.

The French, on the other hand, have already deported five Moslem fanatics who preached violence, including one Abdelkader Bouziane, who advocates wife-beating.

We in Britain operate under the same European human rights laws, so if the French can kick these mad mullahs out of their country, so can we. President Jacques Chirac has said he will even change the law to enable supporters of terrorism to be swiftly deported from France.

You can bet that if a non-citizen preached violence against Moslems, theyd be given the boot instantly. So why do we walk on eggshells over those who advocate violence against non-Moslems?

There are plenty of Moslem citizens of good character. I dont question that for one moment. There are those who practice the Islamic faith who keep their religion in perspective and they are welcome here as productive citizens.

But heres the pointeven if the Moslem clerics are citizens, they should also be of good character. Which, in the case of these mad mullahs, they are not, and as such, their citizenship should be revoked.

I cant help but think that until this is the case, the Home Office and the Government are lying through their teeth about striving for a tolerant, peaceful Britain. As long as we shelter these mad mullahs, living off the fat of the free, democratic land they claim to despise, I see an intolerant, fragmented Britain with a bleak future.
