Perching here and gathering my thoughts ...

Molly making strides (or bunny hops)

01 September 2003 ~ 14:28

We had a nice weekend and met another Anglo-American couple who live just down the road from us. We already know Bridget and Pat (she is from Tennesse, he is from Yorkshire). They live on the next road to us and weve been out to dinner with them twice. They have a lovely cat called Gracelands and live in an old church which has been converted into flats.

The new couple are Sarah (from Wisconsin) and Ian (from Bristol). They are very nice and have a dog called Jack which we hope to meet soon. We went to dinner at an Italian place called Pontis, and afterwards they came back to meet the girls. Sarah loved Molly.

Speaking of Molly, she has really made great progress in the few weeks since weve had her. At first she wouldnt take food from our hands, but now she will nibble on a carrot-flavoured yoghurt drop whilst I hold it out to her. She is also becoming very relaxed, almost like a cat. Shell lie down just about anywhere and kick back. The other night she even sat on my lap for the longest time while I stroked her. That is something Blackie would never do.

Seems like shes gradually getting the idea of the litter box we put out for her while she free ranges and, unlike Blackie, she shows no signs of trying to dig up the carpet, which is pretty good because we had most of the flat re-carpeted only a short time ago.

My mum is very smitten with Molly too and I cant wait for Marks mom to meet her. We really are proud of our new girl and, like all parents, we love to show her off!
