�Terminator� terminates ferret owners� rights 15 October 2004 ~ 11:17 California Governor Arnie Schwarzenegger has voted against a change in the law to legalise pet ferret ownership in the state. Despite his apparent support for ferrets as pets, and having starred in �Kindergarten Cop� with a ferret co-star, he has vetoed the proposal.Ferret ownership is legal in all other US states except Hawaii, and even Massachusetts legalised them several years ago where they had previously been banned for a long time. Now ferret owners are angry that their Governor has let them down on this issue. If ferrets have not caused a problem in any other states�the fear was they�d form feral populations�then why would they cause one in CA? Yet again here is an example of a stupid law that penalises pet owners. So much for the US being a �free� country�when you are not even allowed to own your harmless pet of choice.
