Perching here and gathering my thoughts ...

Sejourn in Scotland

10 November 2003 ~ 15:15

We had a great time in ScotlandEdinburgh is a really lovely city. We saw the castle, fed the pigeons, shopped for souvenirs in a kilt shop and along the Royal Mile and Princes Street, and Mark had his photo taken with an exact look-a-like of Mel Gibson in Braveheart (blue face and everything), holding a severed headyuk!

There was a group of iron pigeons near our hotel, which looked just like the row of ducklings from Make Way for Ducklings in the Boston Public Garden. We took a photo of our plush dragon travelling companions, Tiny and Bridgey, and me sitting on them.

A very nice deacon from St Giles Cathedral gave us an impromptu tour of the building, showing us the organ and the Victorian chapel. He made us laugh when he told us how the English had burned the cathedral in the 14th century. He said, I have to be careful what I say these days A country south of here

All in all, a successful jaunt.
